Bilingual Math

Grades 1 to 4 live, 5 to 12 in production. EN/AR, free PDF.

Why I built it this way

The polymath ideal of our ancestors was not a man who knew many things, but a man who could build the curriculum, not just deliver it. Al-Khwarizmi did not teach from a textbook handed to him; he wrote the textbook. I built this mathematics series in that inheritance. Each guide begins at zero, assumes no prior knowledge, and walks the learner : child or parent or teacher : to readiness to teach. The bilingual format is not a translation; it is a recognition that the Arabic-speaking child and the English-speaking child learn different things from the same number, because number is a language and language carries thought. A child who learns mathematics in both languages simultaneously learns something neither language could teach alone: that the structure is prior to the symbol. This is the library's foundational wager : that the polymathic mind is built, not born, and that its construction begins in the earliest years with a curriculum that takes both the child and the civilization seriously.
